857 Melvin's obituary states he moved west in 1900. (It was actually later, as he was in Northfield for the 1905 state census.) The obituary stated he died at home in Idaho, and he was survived by a wife and three children. A quick search of the Idaho Marriage Index returned several results. One is for a Melvin D. Howe, who married Mrs. Myrtle Hurd, August 15, 1927. I was unable to locate any Howe's born in Minnesota in the 1930 census in Idaho. It is likely Melvin was taken to Minnesota for burial as he is included in the Dalby Database, with cemetery "unknown". HOWE, Melvin D (I191)

864 Military registration states year of birth as 1890 which appears to be in error given the year of birth of his older brother Clyde (April 1889). It seems more likely that the year of 1891, which is included in the Minnesota death index, is most probably correct, and also correlates with the year provided by Claire's nephew, Richard Cravens. CRAVENS, Claire William (I1302)

889 Miss Anna Marie Gravdahl and Amos Eilson were married at the Immanual church Thursday May (sic) 6, Rev. Heimark officiating. After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of bride’s sister, Mrs. John Veiland, where a large number of friends had assembled to extend congratulation to the happy couple. Miss Gravdahl is well known in Story City and has many friends here. She is a most excellent young lady’s, and the possessor of the womanly qualities that make her home so bright and attractive. The groom is from Des Moines where he has a good position. A large number of friends from Des Moines were in attendance. The young couple returned to Des Moines yesterday where they will be home to their many friends hereafter. GRAVDAHL, Anna Marie (I2377)
