964 No date of birth included with baptismal record. However, birth record obtained from Story County was originally recorded 3 October 1896, two days after reported birth (1 Oct 1896). Transcribed date of baptism 29 September 1896 precedes birth; exact date of baptism unable to be determined but appears to be in 1896. VELAND, Julia Christine (I72)

998 Obituary

Carolyn Faye (Kuykendall) Rogers went to be with her Lord at 11:00 a.m. on Monday June 6th, 2022. She passed peacefully in her sleep surrounded by family in Waxahachie, Texas after a long and courageous battle with multiple health issues, including Parkinson’s.

She was preceded in death by her infant son Kyle, her parents Issac and Minnie Kuykendall, and her brothers Mickey, Shorty, and Doug. She is survived by her husband is Wayne Rogers. She leaves behind her sister Donna and her brothers Milton, Sid, and David. She will also be missed by her children, Corey Jordan, Joseph Rogers, and Rachel Rogers. Her grandchildren include Caleb, Courtney, Zachary, Britani, Katy, David, Paige, and Harper. They have provided her with several great grandchildren. There are also nieces, nephews, cousins, too many beloved in-laws to mention, and a multitude of cherished friends and past coworkers.

Carolyn was born in Cleburne, Texas on 9/7/43. She grew up in Midlothian, Texas and was a graduate of Midlothian High School. She retired from AON (Dallas) after 45+ years of service. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was known for her punctuality, reserved demeanor, quiet kindness, and a quick, dry wit. She enjoyed crochet, doll collecting, hummingbird watching, and spending time with her large family.

Carolyn was a life-long devout Christian. She was active in several churches during her lifetime. She taught children’s Sunday School, volunteered, and was an encouragement to those around her. She enthusiastically supported her children and grandchildren in all their endeavors, especially sports. She attended all the games and activities she was able to get to.

While we grieve our loss, we do not grieve as those without hope. We are relieved that her physical suffering is over and confident that we will see her again.

A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, June 14th at 1:00. It will be held at the Midlothian Funeral Home, 200 E Ave East, Midlothian, Texas 76065. Family and very close friends are welcome to arrive 30 minutes or so early. There will be a small family graveside service afterwards.

In lieu of flowers, please honor Carolyn with a donation to Parkinson’s research and by showing kindness to those around you.
KUYKENDALL, Carolyn F (I1340)
