      on this seventeenth day of March one thousand eight hundred eight hundred [sic] and fifty five personally appeared before me James Russell a Justice of the peace within and for the County and State afore said Levina [sic] Bursley aged seventy five years a resident of Farmington in the County of Franklin and State of Maine who being duly sworn according to law declares that she is the widow ofLemuel Bursley who was an Ensign in the Company commanded by Capt Daniel Beale in the attached Regiment of Massachusetts Militia commanded by Col David McGaffey in the war with Great Brittian [sic] decleard by the United States on the 18th day of June 1812 that her said husband was called out at Farmington in or about the twelfth day of September AD 1814 for an indefinite period of time and continued in actual service in sd war fifteen days and was honably [sic] discharged at Hallowell on the twenty sixth day of September AD 1814 as by the roll of sd Company in the department roll appear She further states that her husband never had any written printed discharge to her knowledge nor any bounty land. She further states that she was married to sd Lemuel Bursley at Provincetown in the year 1797 by one Samuel Parker Clergyman the day of the month she has forgotten that her maiden name before her marriage was Levina [sic] Spencer and that said husband died at Farmington on the sixteenth day of November AD 1854 and that she is still a widow and she further states that the record of her marriage is no where to be found. She makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the bounty land to which she may be entitled under the act approved March 3rd 1855.
