Mrs. Southard, nee Mabel B Sampson, wife of the late Frank E Southard, well-known bath attorney, died on June 22 in Boston at her home on W. Cedar street after a long illness. Born in Readfield, Me., June 16, 1871, she was the daughter of Joseph B. Samson. She was a direct descendent of Myles Standish.

In her late 60s she established a real estate business renting apartments on Beacon Hill and in the Back Bay until her advancing age forced her to limit her activities a few years ago.

She leaves a daughter Frances M Southard of Boston and a brother, J. Walter Sampson of Santa Rosa, Calif.

Funeral services will be at her former home, 819 High St., now the A. F. Mayo & Son Funeral home.
