- Veteran of '61 Seeks Sister: John M. Bursley, age 76, a veteran of the Civil war and a member of the G.A.R., wearing a blue brass-buttoned uniform covered with the dust of travel, arrived in Superior yesterday over the Great Northern from Seattle, Wash.
Bursley had searched the city in vain for his sister, who he knew resided here. He was tired and sat down on the steps of an automobile parked near Eleventh street and Tower avenue.
He let the ferrule on the end of his cane bound up and down on the edge of the curb which attracted the attention of a blue-coated, brass-buttoned veteran of the Superior police force, to whom Bursley told his story.
Captain Osborn was notified and began the search. After many inquiries Bursley's sister was found to be Mrs. William McArtan, residing at 1815 Twelfth street.
