  • Notes
    • Births of children all taken from Vital Records of Gloucester, MA to 1749 as listed for David Jr. and Dorcas. Ethel Stanwood Bolton's research states David is the son of Jonathan and Mary Nichols. Indeed, there were two Davids of the correct age to have had these children - David the son of Philip (who married Susanna Davis) and David the son of Jonathan, who married Dorcas. This writer still questions the use of "Jr." after David's name, if in fact, he is the son of Jonathan. Babson is silent on David's marriage and children, but does credit David as the individual wounded at Cape Breton.
